1879
Chemist Franz Swaty establishes Swaty, an artificial abrasives factory. The company’s activities are initially based on the manufacture of mineral bonded abrasives.
1929
Beginning of the manufacture of vitrified bonded abrasives, primarily for industrial needs.
1946
Beginning of the manufacture of resin bonded abrasives.
1963
Beginning of the manufacture of resin bonded abrasives that are suitable for use at high peripheral speeds. Development of a new flexible product, Swaty-Fiber.
1970s
Development of new specialised products for use at high peripheral speeds.
1978
Beginning of the manufacture of metal bonded diamond products.
1984
Beginning of the manufacture of diamond and boron nitride resin bonded abrasive tools.
1990s
Implementation of the manufacture of metal bonded diamond abrasives for grinding glass and boron nitride vitrified bonded abrasive tools.
1992
Transformation to Swaty d.d. joint stock company.
2007
SWATY becomes a member of Avtotehna Group
2009
Celebration of the 130th anniversary of SWATY

Founding of COMET and manufacture of the first magnesite based artificial abrasives for the needs of the forging industry.
1963
Manufacture is supplemented with tools for working marble, calcite and dolomite.
1964
First exports of magnesite abrasives
1967
Beginning of the regeneration of raw materials from waste abrasives.
1968

Beginning of the manufacture of fire resistant masses.
1983
Beginning of the development of galvanic and resin bonded diamond abrasives.
1984
Beginning of the manufacture of woven fabrics and impregnation of glass fabrics for the needs of the grinding industry. Beginning of the manufacture of vitrified bonded abrasives.
1993
Development of coated abrasives on emery cloth and paper.
1995
Completion of the company’s privatisation and registration of the COMET, d.d. joint stock company.
1998
First robotisation of the manufacture of resin bonded abrasives.
2001
Intensive development of in-house machine design and construction.
2005/06
Accelerated development of resin bonded abrasives for industrial applications.
2006
Beginning of a period rich in innovations that is rounded off by in-house development of an assembly device and side load capacity test machine.
2007
COMET becomes a new member of Avtotehna Group
